OnePlus 2 phablet review

Although relatively new brand, the new flagship phone from Chinese manufacturer OnePlus, OnePlus 2 phablet is highly expected to make great success and be the main competitor of the Moto X style. OnePlus 2 offers great value for your money, with its octa-core processor and incredibly good looking design with metal case and a massive IPS display.

Design

Looking at this phablet, you must be impressed by its design. It features a handset which incorporates an aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis with stainless steel acccents. So if you are familiar with the OnePlus one you will see that the difference is the metal back, but now you will feel a premium quality. OnePlus 2 phablet ony weighs 175 grams and it is 9.9 mm respectively, which is lightweight and slimmer compared to Moto X style.  Overall the design looks attractive and top quality.

Display

As we already mentioned OnePlus 2 only weighs 175 grams and 9.9 mm meaning that it is 1 mm shrunken height and width-wise, but 8% thicker and heavier due in part to its larger 3,300 mAh battery. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass protection OnePlus 2 have a display of 5.5″ LCD with 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution. Although the display is the same as its predecessor, the OnePlus One, the difference remains in the new fingerprint sensor which can be used for only unlocking the phone, but with software updates in the future, OnePlus hopes to add some new features and make it multi-functional.

Hardware

The handset in OnePlus 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (1.8GHz octa-core Processor, purposely underclocked to 1.8 GHz to avoid any overheating issues). It has 4GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage memory, GPU: Adreno 430 graphics processor clocked at 630MHz.
The rear camera is 13 MP, up to 2160p with ultra HD video, dual LED flash, Autofocus, Face Detection and Geo-tagging, while the front (selfie) camera is 5MP with the ability to record 1080p HD video. OnePlus 2 supports Dual Sim, Dual Standby, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS. A battery of 3300 mAh garanties a long and great experience with this phablet.

Software

We previously mentioned that OnePlus 2 runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core whit is intentionaly underclocked to 1.8 GHz to avoid any overheating issues. This means that OnePlus 2 is performing fast and easily faces multitasks without overheating or lagging. The OnePlus 2 runs on OnePlus’ OxygenOS version 2.0, which is based on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.
