Xiaomi unveiled an updated version of its popular and wallet-friendly
XIAOMI RedMi Note 2 Phablet which is supposed to rival Samsung ‘s
Galaxy Note 5 phablet. XIAOMI RedMi Note 2 Phablet is supposed to be
the successor to the company’s first phablet, the RedMi Note. Just
like its predecessor, it is 4G-capable dual-SIM phablet, but this version has far
better specs, double RAM memory , double baline storage and much sharper
display.
Design
First thing that impressed us at this phablet was the design. It is
extremely close to that of its current flagship, the Mi 4. This means
that the blocky feeling of the original RedMi Note phablet is gone. This
gives the Redmi Note 2 phablet a high-end look, which may explain why
it’s been referred to by company executives as its next flagship
offering. Summary, the design of Xiaomi RedMi Note 2 phablet has a clean
and symmetrical impression. The overall dimensions of the device are
reduced while maintaining the same size of the display. The measures of
Redmi Notes 2 phablet are: 152 x 76 x 8.25 mm and 160 grams of weight.
Display
The Redmi Note 2 phablet has a 5.5-inch full HD display at 1920 x 1080
resolution (440 pixels per inch, 400 PPI of density). This means that
Redmi Note 2 phablet has a same size display as its predecessor, but it
has much better resolution improving the 720p. Also we can see
improvements at the color accuracy and saturation and much sharper and
wider angle of viewing(viewing angle up to 172 degrees).
Hardware
Speaking about the hardware the first thing that impressed us was the
fast ARM Cortex-A53 MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) processor, Octa-Core
Frequency 2.0 GHz, supported by 2 GB of Ram, making this phablet
super-fast, and for the amazing graphics in charge is the PowerVR G6200
GPU. The combination gives you a phablet that will run smoothly apps and
games.
For the rear camera, Xiaomi decided to use Samsung’s 5 lences 13 MP camera, with F2.2 aperture, single led flash, auto focus, ultra fast 0.1 s focus speed, HDR, face/smile detection, can record up to 1080p.
The front facing camera is 5 MP with much wider angle, and it is able to record videos with impressive 720p resolution. As we already mentioned this phablet will be 4G dual sim and Wi-Fi 802.11.1/b/g/n/ac.
Storage of 16 GB is provided and users will be able to add more storage memory using a microSD card.
