Drivers usually have to switch between multiple apps when they go for a drive. A new app called StreetRacer for iOS and Android changes that by combining all of these features into a single digital cockpit.
The creators designed the app to solve this exact problem, giving drivers a way to monitor their vehicle data and stay in touch with their driving group at the same time.
Live Maps and Group Driving
The app makes group road trips and local cruises much easier. Instead of using messy group chats to coordinate coordinates, driving teams can use a dedicated command center.
Real-Time Tracking: Drivers can see their friends on a live map with custom speedometer overlays.
Voice Convoy: Built-in audio streaming allows groups to talk to each other like a hands-free walkie-talkie.
Privacy Controls: A quick private mode lets users hide their location from the map whenever they want.
The mapping system also focuses on safety. It uses community updates to give drivers live alerts for speed cameras and upcoming road hazards.
Engine Diagnostics and HUD
What makes the app unique is how it connects directly to the vehicle. By linking with a standard Bluetooth adapter plugged into the car, the app reads live data straight from the engine.
Drivers can monitor more than 15 different sensors, including fuel consumption, boost pressure, and engine temperatures. For night driving, a head-up display mode projects this data directly onto the windshield so drivers never have to look down at their phones. The app can also read and clear check engine light codes, saving users a trip to the mechanic.
Speed Tracking and Leaderboards
For performance enthusiasts, the app includes tools to log trips and analyze driving stats. It features an automatic 0–60 mph timer and a race timer for closed-circuit track days.
Drivers can view their trip statistics and compare their metrics on global and local leaderboards. The app even rewards users with credits just for driving safely and logging their journeys. Extra tools like a built-in virtual dashcam, a license plate reader, and offline map support round out the feature list.
