Samsung is back on top as the leading manufacturer of smartphones


Having lost the first position of Apple in the fourth quarter of last year, Samsung has rapidly returned to the first place as manufacturer of smartphones. According to data from research firm Gartner for the first quarter of this year.
Samsung in this period sold 81 million smartphones, while Apple for the same time sold 60 million smartphones. However, the share of Korean companies has fallen 30.4 per cent last year during the same period, to 24.2 per cent for the first quarter of 2015. On the other hand, Apple has overtaken Xiaomi and became the largest manufacturer of smartphones in China.
Lenovo, Huawei and Nokia round out the top five manufacturers of smartphones with a 5.9, 4.8 or 4 percent market share. As for the operating system, the situation is known – on top leads Android followed by iOS, Windows and Blackberry.
